If you're a Chinese drama fan, June is looking pretty exciting because several highly anticipated dramas are expected to premiere this month.
Today, I'm going to share some of the Chinese dramas that are expected to air this June, including the ones I'm personally looking forward to the most.
And I just want to quickly let you know that we have a Cdrama journal available on Amazon. You can use it to track your cdrama viewing and also review each drama you watch. 👉🏾Get it here
Ashes To Crown
First up is Ashes to Crown, which is scheduled to premiere on June 2nd on Youku.
This historical political romance stars Chen Du Ling and Zhou Yi Ran and tells the story of Chu Zhao, a general's daughter who suffers a tragic fate after marrying the wrong man. After being reborn before her wedding, she gets a second chance to change her destiny and prevent the destruction of her family.
What makes this drama stand out for me is the combination of rebirth, court politics, military strategy, and a strong female lead. Instead of simply focusing on romance, it looks like the story will center on power struggles, survival, and Chu Zhao's journey to becoming one of the most influential figures in the empire.
Out of all the June dramas, this is probably my most anticipated one. The trailers look promising, the cast is solid, and I'm curious to see how the political storyline unfolds.
Wonder Wall
Next is Wonder Wall, scheduled to premiere on June 7th on CCTV and Tencent.
Unlike the other dramas on this list, Wonder Wall is a black comedy mystery. It follows a struggling couple who unexpectedly move into a luxurious mansion and discover a hidden fortune. However, their newfound wealth quickly attracts trouble, forcing them to question whether their luck is actually a blessing or a curse.
If you're looking for something different from the usual historical romances, this could be worth checking out. The premise sounds unique, and I always enjoy seeing mystery stories with a bit of dark humor mixed in.
The First Jasmine
Coming up next is The First Jasmine, which is expected to premiere on June 9th on Tencent.
This historical romance stars Bai Lu and Cheng Lei, and honestly, this is another drama that I'm really excited about.
The story follows Ye Li, who marries the crippled Prince Mo Xiuyao while her sister marries another prince on the very same day. Both Ye Li and her husband are secretly pursuing revenge, and because of that, neither fully trusts the other at first.
As they face political conspiracies and power struggles together, they gradually become allies and eventually partners in their fight against those threatening the empire.
The biggest reason I'm looking forward to this drama is the pairing of Bai Lu and Cheng Lei. The storyline also sounds like it will deliver plenty of court intrigue, strategic battles, and a mature relationship where both leads are intelligent and capable.
Spring Of The Blade
And finally, we have Spring of the Blade. Now, this drama doesn't have an officially confirmed release date yet, but there are rumors that it could premiere sometime in June.
The drama stars Xu Kai and Zhou Ye and follows Xie Qingyuan, who returns to her family home to investigate the truth behind her mother's death. Along the way, she reunites with Shen Run, a childhood companion she was separated from years earlier.
As the two work together to uncover secrets and navigate family conflicts, their bond slowly grows stronger.
If the June rumors turn out to be true, I think this could easily become one of the month's biggest historical romance releases. Xu Kai and Zhou Ye are already generating a lot of anticipation among fans, and the story sounds like it will combine mystery, romance, and family intrigue.
So those are some of the Chinese dramas that are expected to air this June. Personally, my most anticipated dramas are Ashes to Crown and The First Jasmine. Both stories seem packed with political intrigue, revenge, strong characters, and the kind of historical storytelling that I usually enjoy.
Which June Chinese drama are you most excited to watch? Are you looking forward to Ashes to Crown, The First Jasmine, Spring of the Blade, or maybe Wonder Wall?
