Overdo Synopsis


During the Republican era in Shanghai, Murong Qingyi grows up enduring years of suffering after being switched at birth as the son of a powerful warlord. His life changes when the kind-hearted Ren Susu rescues him, but her courageous act brings tragedy upon her own family.

As the years pass, love blossoms between the two despite the hardships they face. Their happiness is cut short when Ren Susu fakes her own death in order to save someone else, leaving Qingyi devastated. Three years later, she unexpectedly returns under a new identity as his future sister-in-law. With love, resentment, betrayal, and long-buried secrets colliding once again, the pair must confront both their painful past and the approaching war that threatens to tear their country apart.

Murong Qingyi spends much of his life trapped by a cruel fate after being exchanged at birth into the influential Murong family. Though born into privilege, he experiences years of emotional torment and struggles to find his place within a family filled with secrets and hidden agendas.

Everything changes when Ren Susu enters his life. Her compassion offers him hope for the first time, but the consequences of helping him bring devastating misfortune upon her family. Despite the tragedy, their bond deepens into a heartfelt romance built on trust and mutual devotion.

Just as they begin to dream of a future together, Ren Susu makes the painful decision to fake her death in order to protect another person's life. Believing he has lost the woman he loves forever, Murong Qingyi is left heartbroken and forced to move forward alone.

Three years later, Ren Susu returns to Shanghai under the identity of Fang Mulan and finds herself connected to the Murong family in an entirely unexpected way—as Murong Qingyi's future sister-in-law. Their reunion reopens old wounds while exposing long-hidden truths, forcing them to confront unresolved feelings and impossible choices.

As military conflict spreads across the nation, personal vendettas and political struggles become intertwined. Together, Murong Qingyi and Ren Susu must overcome betrayal, family rivalries, and the chaos of war, all while fighting to preserve the love that fate repeatedly tries to tear apart.
